Lion Yoga or Roaring Lion Pose (Simhasana)

The Lion pose, or Roaring Lion pose, is appropriate for individuals of all ages because it is comparatively straightforward to perform. "Simha" in Sanskrit means "Lion", and this posture gets its name as a result of the fact that the face of the person playing it resembles the face of a roaring lion, with an open mouth and extended tongue.

Beginner’s Tip

As you unfold the right palm on the right knee, feel how the shoulder blade spreads across your back. Similarly, as you press each palm against the same-side knee, notice how the same-side shoulder blade presses deeply into the back, elevating the center.

NOTE: Before you start this, consult your doctor or an exercise professional about this pose. Don't try to do it alone.

Tip To Do -

1 - From a seated position with the hips resting on the heels, sigh and lift the crown of the head to lengthen the spine.
2 - As you exhale, bring the palms to the ground before the knees, arch the spine, hunt at the sense organs with purpose, stick out the tongue and roar, sort of like a lion. "Haaa! out of your mouth."
3 - Return to the starting position and repeat 2 to 5 times.
