Bharadvaja's Twist (Bharadvajasana)

Bharadvaja's Twist, additionally referred to as "Bharadvajasana", is a simple twist and the primary one to be done for cathartic tension within the spine and promoting circulation within the abdominal organs.

Beginner’s Tip

If you tilt onto your twisting-side feet, place a thick accordion blanket beneath them. Consciously sink each of your sitting bones toward the ground.

Tip To Do -

1 - Sit on the ground with your legs straight and move in front of you. Shift over your right feet, bend your knees, and swing your legs to the left. Lay your feet on the ground outside your left hip, with the left articulatio plana resting within the right arch.
2 - Inhale and lift through the highest part of the sternum to lengthen the front of the body. Then exhale and twist your body part to the right, keeping your left feet on the ground. Lengthen your tailbone toward the ground and try to stay in the lower back. Soften the belly.
3 - Tuck your mitts below your right knee and bring your right hand to the ground just beside your right feet. While still twisting your chest to the right, pull your right to the ground. Your left shoulder should be back slightly, pressing your shoulder blades firmly against your back.
4 - You'll be able to flip your head both ways. Continue the twist of the body part by turning it left and searching over the left shoulder at your feet.
5 - With each inhalation, elevate a little more through the sternum victimization, the push of the fingers on the ground to help, and twist a little more with each exhalation. For thirty seconds to one minute, exhale, return to the starting position, and repeat to the left for an indefinite amount of time.
